Costa Rica December 2011

December 27th, 2011

Early in December 2011 we had the opportunity to head down to Northern Costa Rica with a group of our family and friends. Costa Rica is always a great time but it’s even better when you get to share it with a good group of people. We spent most of our time in Playa Longosta but we also stayed in Playa Grande and Playa Negra and we made several trips to Playa Avellanes as well. Of course we surfed quite a bit, mainly in the chest to head high range w/light offshore winds, but we also had the opportunity to fly above the jungle canopy on zip-lines, definitely something I recommend trying at least once. Here are some photos from our trip…

TGSA CC Open at Bob Hall Pier October 8th and 9th

October 9th, 2011

The Texas Gulf Coast Surfing Association held it’s first competition of the 2011-12 season at Bob Hall Pier on October 8th and 9th. We had some large rough surf that didn’t always cooperate but competitors made the most of the tough conditions. Due to bad weather many of the finals were put on hold until the next competition in Surfside.
